We're Off To See The Wizard!

Hello, hello, hello!
First off, I want to say a hardy Congratulations to my great friend Lori! She made some friendship dolls and they made it into CQMagOnline! Way to go Lori!!!!!!!!!
Here's the link if you'd like to check them out!

I finished working on Nancy's Wizard of Oz block for the Fairy Tale Round Robin, and I must say, I didn't want to stop! I really had a great time working on it, but I wish I could just finish it up and send it back to her. I think Jaki and Susan would be terribly upset with me if I did though....HA!

Anyway, I wanted to share some pics of the block and the work I did to it!
Here's the block as it sits waiting for the mailman to pick it up:

Here I added the Cowardly Lion with his crown and the ribbon with the circles and the seam treatment above him. It is a row of Chevrons with 3 detached chains and a star above.
I love this button, and I have been hanging on to it for quite some time....but I guess every button has it's day and this one found it's way onto Nancy's block! This is "somewhere over the rainbow", with happy little bluebirds flying over it! I also did the seam treatment, which is a row of herringbones with a straight stitch running through the middle and a detached chain on the end of it.
Here I did the cloud and "SURRENDER DOROTHY". I also did the seam treatments, the one to the left is a row of feather stitches with 3 detached chains in green and french knots. To the right is irridescent white rick rack with a triad of detached chains and 3 straight stitches. There are also 3 different color seed beads in this seam treatment.
Here I did the Tin Man's Heart with his diploma from the Wizard himself! I also did the seam treatment below it, which is some light green funky yarn with different color flower beads.

I wish I could do more, I'd love to put an emerald city on here, but as time limits go...I've already passed mine, and well....it wouldn't be fair to the other ladies if I hogged it all!

The next fairy tale block I have to work on is 12 dancing princesses. I'm pretty excited about this one too, so I can't wait to get started on it! I also have my kitty kitty round robin blocks to work on, so I'm gonna stay busy for a while! Check back soon for more pictures!

Have a great day all!

Good Morning!

I had a busy weekend, and I'm just now getting around to posting pictures of things that should have been posted last week....Oh bother! That's okay, they're here now...that is all that matters, right?

First off is my second Kitty Kitty Round Robin block. This one is for the Alley Cats group, and it is all about my kitty, Speckles! She is the best cat in the world and I just can't ask for more than that!

Next are pictures from the Your Choice Round Robin. This is my dear friend JK's purse, the theme is Gay Paree. I had a ball working on this project, in fact, I didn't want to stop....and I'm not quite sure if I'm done yet! So here's what I've done so far:
I did the seam here along with the "I love Paris in the springtime" postcard button.I did the vertical seam treatments here and added the blown glass rose.
In this pic, I added the Paris stamp and the postage stitching. I also added the sequin trim to the right of it.
I added the lace, which I thought looked like a bridge and the stitching on top of it, and on the left end, there is a gold poodle with pink rhinestones.
Here I added the poodle with hot fix crystals around her and the ribbon below her with black and white pearls.
I gave this gal a lavendar purse!
And I did this seam's curlicues and added the Eiffel Tower button.
I can think of a million things to do to this gorgeous purse, but I have to leave room for the other ladies.....so, I'm still deciding if I'm finished with it or not!
I hope you enjoyed my pictures!
Have a great Monday!

Those were the days!

Good Morning all! I must say, living in Indiana brings more and more challenges each day! For the past 3 weeks we have had the most incredible weather! Above average temperatures....now....it's frickin' freezing! Yesterday's high temperature was 75*F, now it is a whopping 31! UGH!!!!!!!! I'm ready for spring and summer....no doubt about it now! I managed to get out of this house for a few minutes to take some pictures of my spring beauties, and they are beauties this year! All of this spring cleaning has put me in a place where I want to be outside playing in the dirt....after all, gardening is therapy for a dirty mind...HA!

So, I thought I'd share some of my pics with you all today! I haven't had time to get out and clean up my flower beds yet, but hopefully, by the time this weather breaks I'll be ready to get it done! I had to get the yard mowed and that is as far as I got....but hey, my house is almost clean! HA!

Unfortunately, I missed my crocuses this year....they were soooo pretty too! I will have tons of tulips in bloom soon, so keep checking back for more photos!

Well, I haven't managed to find time to do any stitching this past week, which is pretty sad for me. I draw so much enjoyment from working on my projects that I feel a little blah when I can't work on them. I'm hoping to get my newest project started this week, the Kitty Kitty round robin. Sheesh...I'm the hostess and I don't even have my blocks done yet! How bad is that? I don't think it will take me long to get them together as I have sooo many great ideas! I'm really excited about this RR....can't wait to start embellishing those blocks!

Well, I'm going to sign off for now, I'm tired and today is going to be a loooooong day of cleaning carpets! Woo Hoo!

Have a great Wednesday!

Lisa R.'s Mardi Gras RR

Just have a few minutes this morning, but I wanted to share pics of the work that I did on Lisa's Mardi Gras RR. I loved this block! It was simply gorgeous and I hope she likes the work I did!

Here I outlined the music notes with metallic threads that matched and did the seam treatments on each side. The top is a series of straight stitches with detached chains at the tip. I also added hot fix crystals on the opposite end from the detached chains. On the bottom, the fans are made of detached chains with turquois flowers and pearls.

Here I added the pink beaded trim and all of the stitching on top.

Well, that's it for me today, gotta be getting to bed, I plan to mow today....yay rah.....

Have a great Monday!

Bath Day Birdies

Okay, so it has been quite a while since I've blogged...I've been busy, with nothing really to blog about! Spring cleaning doesn't allow for much to talk about! However, I was playing with my baby cockatiels last night and they decided, (NOT ME!) that it was bath day. So, I went and got their bathtub and they were drawn to it immediately! I haven't laughed that hard in quite some time and the more I laughed, the sillier they acted! Tux decided she wanted to do it on her own this time....she is becoming way more independant than she used to be. However, the boys, Pearl and Bandanna, wanted me to sprinkle them with water. What a mess we made! But, we had a great time doing it, so I guess that is what matters!

I thought I'd share a couple of the pictures of them...they were so cute! This is Tuxie, she was the first one in, and the first one out! She was soaked and dripping everywhere, so the first place she went was my lap. So, I was then wet as well!

Here's Bandanna enjoying the "rain" that was falling on him! He has never liked to be sprinkled before, but yesterday he totally changed his opinion! He was soooooo silly....and WeT! I am calling this, "Did you get my wingpits Mom?".

This is Pearl. Now, this bird has more energy than he knows what to do with most of the time, and yesterday was definately no exception! He was doing all sorts of didoes when I started sprinkling him!

I have had the best experiences with these baby cockatiels! Bandanna is the elder, he's 10 months old now. Tux and Pearl are 8 months. I do miss the attachment of feeding them every 2 hours, but I don't miss the lack of sleep! They have grown up to be so sweet and well behaved and I guess a Mom can't ask for more than that, can she?

Well, I hope you have enjoyed seeing my babies! I love to share them!

Have a super Sunday,

Christy
